We at the hörbert team would like to thank our customer David L. very much for providing the photos of this wonderful and creative wall mount for hörbert.

The hörbert of the little 3-year-old son surely feels perfectly at home and well looked after there.

We’re happy to share the « postbox story »:

« …We too would very much like to contribute with our own creation to the ‘DIY’ section and share our ideas with the hörbert community. This year we gave our three-year-old son an individual hörbert for Christmas and so that our little rascal can enjoy his new player for a long time, we were also looking for a suitable wall mount beforehand.

However, we couldn’t find any really good ideas on the internet that could meet the desired requirements. So we came up with the following wall mount ourselves, modified the existing components and assembled them accordingly. Also to prevent the beautiful hörbert from flying straight through the nursery, a little child safety feature was very important to us.

We ordered a self-built wooden postbox from the internet (made in Ukraine), which was slightly larger inside than the external dimensions of the hörbert. We cut suitable shaped parts from plastic (packaging material) for the interior padding, so that the hörbert could be inserted well fixed and protected. After the interior padding elements were finished, we then determined the exact position measurements of the hörbert control surface to the mount housing, which we transferred to the external wall of the postbox, so that we could cut out a window using a jigsaw based on the contour.

The wooden cutout was then sanded smooth and repainted. For child safety, we chose a galvanised security lock with hasp (80cm) and a combination lock in matching colour. For the hasp, we still had to sand a small recess into the side wall, so that despite the closed bolt, the flap could rest properly.

We’re very satisfied with the result and our son was absolutely delighted with it. Every day he goes to the nursery wall next to his little bed to choose new children’s songs or audio stories. As parents, you also have a good feeling that the new present can’t break straight away due to overly boisterous handling and will stay as it was on the first day. »
